I recently began searching what my life will be like with four children. As you see above, there are only three children in this photo. My wife and I are expecting our fourth child, and second daughter, at the end of May! We are ecstatic to be growing our family once again. When our new daughter is born, we’ll officially have four children under 8! The saying in the military is “Embrace the Suck”, as we’ve become accustomed to long days, extended training events, and sometimes difficult situations (like deployments). As for a large family, albeit one with young children, the saying goes “Embrace the Chaos”. There is so much as parents that we have little control over when our children are this young. But a healthy marriage goes a long way in surviving, and thriving, the ebbs and flows of parenthood.

This blog idea surfaced as I realized I wanted to share my experiences of family, service, and powerlifting with a broader audience. I’ve always enjoyed writing, through both my undergrad and graduate courses, so this was a natural transition to accomplish that goal. I look forward to documenting my point of view regarding #militarydadstrength and the interactions this page will create that otherwise would not be possible.

God Bless,

Jarod
